SEASONAL FAVOURITES– WINTER 2017.
The last time I did a favourites was at the end of last year which actually feels like a really long time ago now! I love a good favourites post and I've decided this year to do a post for each season of the year starting with winter. So from December–February here's what I've been loving...
B O O K S
I've been in such a slump when it comes to reading recently, there are so many books I want to pick up and read but when I actually do pick them up I find myself getting distracted by everything else...anyway there have been a few stand out things I've read over the winter...
In December I picked up The Long Way to a Small Angry Planet by Becky Chambers, a book I had been meaning to read for a little while and I'm so glad I finally picked it up, it featured in my favourite books of last year post. It's character driven and set in space which basically makes it a winner for me!
In January I reread an old favourite– The Secret History & flicked through These Islands by Cereal Magazine which is a beautiful book which explores the landscape of the British Isles and includes such beautiful photography, it's a perfect coffee table book!
In February I read and LOVED Little Fires Everywhere by Celeste Ng, I'd heard so many good things about it and it didn't disappoint, it's my favourite type of book, full of interesting characters and morally grey story lines, I definitely recommend it, if you haven't already picked it up!
F I L M & T V
The best film I've seen in the last few months has definitely been Black Panther, I was expecting good things because I basically love every film Marvel puts out but this was on a whole other level, the plot, the visuals, the characters (especially Shuri, I'm obsessed!!) everything was perfect.
Right at the end of February I finally got around to watching Big Little Lies and watched the series within a few days, it's so intense and addictive and hard to watch at times but seeing so many strong female characters in one show was amazing and I loved all of the plot twists!

There is an app that I am obsessed with at the moment– it's called Letterboxd and it lets you make a list of all of the films you've seen and all of the films you want to see, you can rate them and review them and for someone film AND list obsessed this is basically the perfect app for me!
I recently received two new beautiful perfumes from the brand Miller Harris for a post on instagram (they're not sponsoring anything but they did send the perfumes in exchange for the post!) They're based on Tender is the Night by F. Scott Fitzgerald and they smell incredible, I have been wearing at least one of them everyday!
At the beginning of the year we had our bathroom redone and before I used to have a lot of baths but since the new bathroom I have been having A LOT of baths. The whole space is so calming now, clean and fresh and with maximum aesthetic and it's become one of my favourite places to relax and have some self care time. Hopefully I'll do a bathroom post sometime in the future!
