A WEEKEND AWAY AT WIDBROOK GRANGE.
Well it's been a little while since I uploaded a blog post but I'm very excited to upload this one! A couple of weekends ago I was fortunate enough to be invited to stay at the beautiful Widbrook Grange in the equally beautiful Bradford on Avon, a small town close to Bath. This was a part of the country I had never visited before but had always wanted to and it definitely didn't disappoint, in fact it actually exceeded my expectations and I can't wait to visit this area again. As part of the weekend we made a day trip to Bath which I'll have to do a separate blog post on as I took so many pictures!
On Friday morning we took the train to Bradford on Avon which from where we are in Suffolk only took around three hours. Travelling by train is not something I do that often which is a shame because I absolutely love jumping on a train and watching the little towns and countryside flash by. I'm definitely going to try to make more use of the train in the future to visit some new places! The closer we got to Wiltshire the more beautiful the scenery became and soon we arrived at Bradford on Avon at the cutest little train station & after a few minutes in a taxi we arrived at Widbrook Grange where we were booked in to stay for the weekend!
Widbrook Grange is a beautiful Georgian country house with a whole lot of rustic character and lovely features, every corner is so cosy– we stayed in the seamstress room which had the most amazing roll top bath tub!
After getting checked in, freshened up and after having a little glass of champagne, we decided to go for a wander into Bradford on Avon as it was such a beautiful afternoon. The walk into town was only about fifteen minutes and it was the perfect chance to see more of the surrounding area. I completely fell in love with everything about Bradford on Avon, the beautiful architecture and countryside, stole my heart!
After a delicious dinner in the restaurant & a really good nights sleep (that train journey must have really taken it out of me!), the next morning we had the most amazing breakfast before heading out for the day. I had seen pictures of the Widbrook Grange breakfast spread on Instagram before arriving but it's honestly better than it looks, we had a selection of cereal and crossiants plus the best traditional English breakfast, the best way to start a day of wandering!
After spending the day in Bath (when that blog post is done I'll link it here!) we came back to another lovely dinner and the best dessert (it involved a lot of chocolate) before heading back to our room for a movie before bed. Our last morning was the perfect chance for a lie in before another amazing breakfast, taking some more pictures and sunbathing in the courtyard waiting for taxi back to the train station.
We had such a lovely stay at Widbrook Grange, it was the best place we could have stayed for a weekend away– the cosy atmosphere was just right and everyone was so friendly and accommodating, I would 100% recommend it! If you're interested in more information this link will take you to their website!
Thank you so much for reading, I really hope you've enjoyed this post, I had a lot of fun writing it and sharing the pictures of this beautiful place! Be on the lookout for my post about the day we spent in Bath coming soon, until then I hope you're all having a lovely day! ♥
I received a free stay at the Widbrook Grange in exchange for this blog post. All opinions are my own. A massive thank you again to the lovely people at the Widbrook Grange for an amazing stay!
