A STAY AWAY AT THE METHUEN ARMS HOTEL.
Last week I packed up an overnight bag and headed to the beautiful town of Corsham, Wiltshire to stay at the Methuen Arms– a boutique hotel & restaurant just down the road from my favourite city in the UK– Bath. I was more than happy to be invited to review the hotel here on the blog as I couldn’t wait to explore more of the area & visit somewhere new and fresh too.
The Methuen Arms is such a cosy place to spend a night or two and is located in the most beautiful setting of Corsham, surrounded by my favourite kind of Georgian buildings & cobblestone streets. Me and Daisy headed down to Corsham on Thursday and after a four hour drive we were so ready to settle in to our cosy room. After getting checked in though, we had a little wander around the hotel– it’s situated in the town so the charming little high street is right on the doorstep. Unfortunately most of the pretty, individual shops were closed by the time we got there, including the Corsham Bookshop which I would have loved to look around, but we’ll just have to visit again sometime!
The room we stayed in was one of their luxury rooms and I can confirm it definitely felt luxurious, I especially loved the headboard, wallpaper & industrial bedside light combination– plus the room was ensuite with a beautiful roll top bath which I obviously made use of after dinner! We also had a beautiful view out of the lovely little window across the courtyard. I spent some time taking pictures inside and out of the hotel because every corner was really beautiful and our room was just made for taking cosy photos!
After the little photo shoot we headed down to the restaurant for dinner– The Methuen Arms has a bar and snug area plus a dinning room where we settled in and browsed the menu to try and decide what to pick, everything sounded good! I ended up having soup to start with, a pub classic– the beef burger with sweet potato fries & the dessert was a combination of chocolate and honeycomb, everything was absolutely delicious and presented so beautifully too, it was probably the fanciest dinner I’ve had! After dinner, like I mentioned, I made use of the roll top bath and bubble bath before watching a film and getting cosy for a good nights sleep!
The next morning we had the chance to have a lovely lie-in, before taking a few more pictures and heading back down to the dining room for breakfast– we didn’t get down there until 9.30am but there was still a great selection of their breakfast buffet. They also have a hot breakfast menu, Daisy went for bagel with bacon, brie and poached eggs & we both had a selection from the buffet, including granola and yogurt & pastries. You know how much I love my breakfast food, so I was in my element!
Unfortunately after breakfast it was time to check out but we had such a lovely, cosy night away at The Methuen Arms and after checking out we went into Bath which was only a twenty drive away through the beautiful countryside (blog post for the day we spent in Bath, coming soon!) I absolutely fell in love with the location, the cosy room and great food, thank you to The Methuen Arms for having us stay for the night!
I received a complimentary stay at The Methuen Arms in exchange for a review here on my blog and coverage on Instagram. All content & opinions are my own.
