EDINBURGH– PART ONE.

One of the things I wanted to do this year was to visit somewhere in the UK I had never been before and I'm so happy that Edinburgh was the place we picked to visit first as it's become one of my favourite cities... ♥ It was such an amazing few days & I took a lot more pictures than I realised and I want to share them all with you so I've decided to split the weekend into two posts. I'm starting this one off with some pictures of the beautiful Airbnb we stayed in...

We decided to fly up to Edinburgh as it's cheaper than the train and quicker than driving and we wanted to make the most of the time we had up there! We flew up on Thursday afternoon and went straight from the airport to our Airbnb which was such an easy journey on the tram & only took about 30 minutes. The Airbnb we stayed in was in the Brunstfield area of Edinburgh and was only about a 10 minute walk from the city center. The place was a lovely Victorian apartment in a beautiful building and was just the perfect place to relax before and after a day of wandering the city. I'm going to link the place we stayed here...

The first evening we just chilled in our apartment with a pizza and my favourite film– The Secret Life of Walter Mitty– which just happened to be on the TV! The next morning we had an early start and wandered into the city center, we got great views of the castle on our walk as we headed straight for Waverly Bridge to catch the open top bus. It's definitely a really touristy thing to do but I kinda love it! I think it gives such a good overview of the city, especially if you don't know anything about it and you get a different feel sitting at roof height. After getting a little bit freezing on the bus tour we warmed up in The Milkman coffee shop...

After warming up and having the BEST coffee and cake we spent the rest of the afternoon wandering around Cockburn Street (the street that The Milkman is on), the Royal Mile, Victoria Street and Grassmarket taking lots of pictures and popping in and out of the cute shops. We had a few ideas of places we wanted to go but mostly we we're just finding places as we went along which was so lovely to just be able to explore!

A really special place we found was a second hand bookshop– Armchair Books; such a beautiful mixture of books on too tall for me shelves, I could have stayed in there all evening! Definitely a place to go for any book lovers visiting Edinburgh.
