We started day two in Edinburgh with a wander towards Grassmarket and coffee and cake at Lovecrumbs which had a such a lovely cosy vibe and the nicest selection of cake! It was the perfect place to start the day...

After we had had our fill of coffee and cake we decided the first thing we wanted to do was see the castle up close and we walked around the long way so we could also stop at Waterstones. On the way we also came across a really lovely farmers market where we picked up a few treats to take home, I love stumbling across things like this, places that you're not expecting to find! The Waterstones in Edinburgh is the nicest Waterstones I've ever been in! Mainly because of the cafe on the second floor which has an amazing view of the castle, we had some lunch there and spent some time taking in the sights.

After lunch at Waterstones we made our way to the castle by the way of the Royal Mile. Although obviously is quite a touristy area with all of the gift shops and tour guides, it's undeniably Scottish and beautiful especially when you hear the bagpipes playing and see the castle up ahead, you can really get a sense of all the history around you. We also found the Royal Mile market which had some really unique and authentic stalls and was a lovely place to wander around!

When we made it to the Castle I was just blown away by the beautiful views, it was amazing to see the winding streets we'd just wandered down, Arthur's Seat and the hills in the distance. We spent ages there taking pictures and we thankfully had such beautiful weather so we could really take it all in! One of my favourite things when I'm visiting a city is to try and get a really good view especially from a high vantage point and being up at the castle was the perfect place to see the city from above. Next time we visit I'm would love to try to climb Arthur's Seat to get an even better view!

By the time we had taken a bunch of pictures and enjoyed the scenery we were all feeling pretty tired and hungry so we wandered back down the Royal Mile and shot some more pictures there and down Cockburn Street before grabbing some dinner at Byron and heading back to our Airbnb for an early night!

The next morning was our last in Edinburgh and we only had a half a day before we had to get to the airport for our flight back so we got packed up and said goodbye to our beautiful Airbnb before getting breakfast. We found this amazing place that happened to be just a few doors down from where we were staying called Honeycomb & Co, it was without a doubt the best and most stylish place I have ever been for breakfast! We had the nicest muesli & coffee and couldn't resist trying one of the amazing cakes there too, it was a really nice way to spend our last few hours in Edinburgh.

We had an amazing few days in Edinburgh, the city definitely stole a piece of my heart and I'm sure we'll be back to visit soon as there's so much more to explore and discover! I hope you've enjoyed both parts of my Edinburgh post, I've really enjoyed reliving all of the fun we had there and I can't wait to share more of our adventures this year! Have you ever been to Edinburgh? What's your favourite part of the city?
